not what i expect
I bought my phone and case together and installed it on day 1. My main complaint is the massive amounts of dust getting under the screen protector. It finally got to be too much and I removed the phone from the case and there were SCRATCHES on my phone! Yes, SCRATCHES! One would think that a case costing $60 would not scratch the phone it is designed to protect! I'm very disappointed with this product and recommend it to no one. Also, the clip broke within the first 3 weeks of ownership. Not a quality product like the other Otter Box products I've used in the past.

After reading reviews about people getting dust into a dust proof/dust resistant case i was reluctant to believe such a thing. I have had my otterbox defender for galaxy note 2 for nearly 2 weeks and i don't see dust.
Such a case is not meant to be easy to remove for a reason, the more you remove it to clean off dust you risk weakening the very element that keeps it sealed.
It does the job as intended, Dust free, durable high quality plastics. Polycarbonate is one amaszing piece of plastic.

Protecting MY Investment
The Defender Series case for my new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is my second Otterbox - previously had an iPhone 3 Defender.
I cannot rate the case highly enough; I work in commercial real estate and I am in & out of cars, on industrial sites and in the field. The great bonuses of the Defender are: grip, protection if knocked or dropped and the belt clip (Samsung Note is not comfortable when in a pocket).
I love good design that works... that's the Otterbox

Difficult to disassemble
So overall this is a good product, I've dropped my phone a 1/2 dozen times already and this case has paid for itself! The package may make the phone seem bulky but I guess that's what you get when you buy a giant phone!
What I don't like is that the built in screen protector does not keep dust out and it does not make full contact with the screen, I solved that by cutting out the existing one and replacing it with a Zagg.
The rubber case it starting to wear from opening the charger cover everyday. My last complaint isn't really a big deal but it is extremely difficult to open the inner case, it has 9 tabs which I guess is good but makes it hard to pry the pieces apart.
All in all though I would buy another case just like this for any phone because the durability is unbeatable.

Its highly unlikely that a docking station will work with this case. We don't test the case with other setups other than the device - usually you would need to use an auxillary cable with the docking station.6 months ago
